Henry William known as Rhys was the brother of my husband's Nan. Rhys went missing in action during WW2. Nan kept the photo of this lovely young man on her wall until the day she died (in 1989). I always promised that I would remember him after she had gone. I was going to name my second child after him if it was a boy, but had a daughter but she says that after hearing the story, and also she loves the name she now wants to call a son, if she has one, Rhys.

God bless you RHYS......Thank you for your sacrifice xxxxxxxxxxx

Rhys is buried in the Calonne communal cemetery in Belgium.
He was in the 7th battalion of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment number 5952153.he gave his life for his country on 21st May,1940.

' Lest we forget '

" Lest we forget " My Father said,
when once he laid me in my bed.
When I had asked " why do you wear that poppy ?
tell me why its there.
" That poppy child " my Father said
" reminds me of those who, now dead,
lay silent in a barren grave,
reminds me of the lives they gave,
that people, just like you and me,
could live their lives, and live them free.
I wear that poppy on my breast,
In honour child of those who rest.

For Rhys - Lost WW2
and Edgar Sear my great uncle lost WW1.
Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice.
R.I.P.
NEVER forgotten.

Thankyou

11th of November every year is the day WE ALL should stop and think. If it was not for so many men/women
who lost their lives for us to enjoy the life we all have NOW. Make the time- to stop and think.
